He used to be a different person. He used to have just one aim everyday, and that was getting high.

Friend's would call him up each day, the dialogue was usually similar, "Dude! what you up to Stoner? Got any cash? Let's go buy some stuff and party man." or "Fucker! What you up to now? Let's go get drunk and cause some bad shit man!" and his reply was usually,
"Wazzzuuup man... Buy some stuff? Why would I wanna do that now? I got loads at home... Come over la... Then we'll go meet up with the others and get some more..." or "Sure man... You know me... how could I resist?".
The result was always almost the same. They always got what they were looking for. They always got loaded.

Life didn't have purpose nor meaning. Nothing was sacred, not even family. Life was just all about partying. Partying became life. Even if it got outta hand, it was still just a part of the big party.
The drugs. The girls. The clubs. The fights. The cars. The crimes.
Yeah, it all seemed fun. One big never ending party. Never growing up.
But yeah, it all took it's toll.
Health was just a a thing they laughed about. School was just a joke. Parent's were just the people who held them back.
Friendships meant little. Heartbreak stopped feeling so painful.
It went on. It kept going on.
The numbness.

Until the day, he had an unexpected ticket out of The black hole. He took a last look back, then looked toward what was to come.

Fate, was taking it's course.

He didn't know it yet, but he was gonna change forever.

I did.

I changed. I found the meaning that had always been missing.
I found, My Angel.

But I never expected it to come in the form of....
A loud, giggly, talkative, weird, nipple pinching, annoying...
Sunshiny, spirit lifting, funny, kind, smart, intelligent, talented, sporty, Butterfly in tummy inducing, heart stopping, sweet smelling, Most Beautiful Girl named, Tiara.
NO I DID NOT! Haha...

But what I did do, before I could even think twice,
Before I could stop and think, "Is this really happening?"
Was fall truly, deeply, madly, head over shoes/sneakers/boots and heels IN LOVE WITH HER!!!
She had My Heart in the palm of her hand.
She had the key to my heart.

For once, I felt like I had purpose.
I had a new aim everyday and that was, making her happy.
In between all the insults thrown both ways. In the midst of trying to catch her attention everyday in school(I didn't know it then but she was ignoring me on purpose. Something to do with me having ego. Pfft! I don't have ego! Please read above, I did not mention having ego at all. Because I don't!! Haha.). During all the argument's and nipple pinching, I felt like, I was born to live with all this torture! I was born to Love this girl.
Oh boy... She is one of the tightest nipple pincher's in the world! But boy oh boy, does she have the softest pair of smackers I've ever kissed!!!!!!!!!!

We had a good time every time we were together... Laughter and smiles followed us almost every minute we were together. And every time we were apart my heart was yearning for her.
She taught me things I knew nothing about anymore.
Life. Laughter. Responsibility. Appreciation. Living healthy. Happiness. LOVE.

I was really really happy. My life was bright. Everything I did seemed that much sweeter because i had her by my side.

She became my life.

She became My World.

Heartbreak, the true meaning of heartbreak hit me the day I found out I had to leave her behind. For two years.

I felt my heart literally tear into pieces. I felt the happiness being drained out of me. I felt my life was falling apart.

Life was going to change again.

Life away from her isn't life at all... It's just existing. Simple and plain. Conversation's don't seem as interesting with anyone else. Jokes don't seem as funny. Movies aren't as entertaining. Music isn't as enjoyable. Food doesn't taste as sweet.
I'm becoming quiet. My thoughts are on her, whatever I do.

It doesn't seem fun at all anymore.
Yeah, it's taking it's toll.

Tiara my Love, I'm sorry you can't see the spark you used to see in me anymore. I'm sorry I'm different, I'm not as enthusiastic, I'm not as funny, I'm not as interesting. It's just that, I am not happy here. Being away from you. Everyday. It's really really affecting me. The times that I get to hear from you, the sms's, the few minutes a day I get to hear your voice on the phone, the days i get to see you online are the only times that, deep inside, I feel so unbelievably content and warm again.
And those moments are precious to me.

Acoustia's Music Diary. #2: Audioslave- Cochise

This entry will not concentrate so much on the lyrics of this song, but...

ON THE BEAUTY OF THE SONG ITSELF!!

One of the best rock and roll songs I've ever heard, and one of the best rock video's of all time!

Cochise, was the first single by the 'superband' Audioslave in their debut album together, which was released in 2002. Consisting of 'Rage Against The Machine's', Tom Morello (Guitar), Tim Commerford (Bass and backing vocals), and Brad Wilk (Drums) and of course 'Soundgarden's' lead singer Chris Cornell, they were a formidable music group.
Well, they sure started off with a BANG!

The title of the song was named after the Red Indian Chief of the Chokonen band of the Chiricahua Apache who lead numerous uprising's against the invading American's during the 19th century.
Tom Morello explained in an interview:

"Cochise was the last great American Indian chief to die free and absolutely unconquered. When several members of his family were captured, tortured, and hanged by the U.S. Cavalry, Cochise declared war on the entire Southwest and went on an unholy rampage , a warpath to end all warpaths. He and his warriors drove out thousands of settlers. Cochise the avenger, fearless and resolute, attacked everything in his path with an unbridled fury."

One of the biggest reason's this song is so great is because of the amazing talent of the band members.
The riff at the intro (Yes. It is a guitar.) was developed by Tom Morello. He stumbled across the technique by accident when he had his guitar in his lap and his delay pedal set to "slap-Back" while writing note's for a song. He rapidly hit the strings with his pencil which produced the effect of helicopter blades going round. During the recording of the song, he used the same technique, with his Digitech Whammy set an octave lower, and using a flat hand to slap the strings.

The Vocals are even more amazing.
Chris Cornell, who needs no introduction and who's known for his four octave vocal range and powerful voice belting technique, really did a spectacular job on this song.
To many rock lover's he is best known for his scream in this song, (2:59) which in itself, is said to have won him best vocalist of the year.

It's no wonder this song was used in the trailer for Iron Man.
It was also featured in the 2006 comedy Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby and was included in the playstation 2 game Guitar Hero.

The amount of fireworks and noise during the filming of the video caused many nearby residents to report a possible terrorist attack. Haha... Seriously.
Also, the video was censored in some places due to the large amount of flashing lights which could cause epileptic fits with some people. Seriously.

There is some symbolism in the setting and events of the video in relation to the forming of the band. At the beginning Chris Cornell stands on a raised platform alone which symbolizes a singer without a band. While Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk drive toward the platform, which symbolizes a band without a singer. They then rock on together (obviously), and at the end of the video they hug, symbolizing a new band is formed.
Pretty cool la...

Acoustia's Music Diary. #1: Collin Raye- Love Me

This and all the entries that may follow;

are for you T.

There's a very special person to me, who requested that I update my blog more often than i have been doing recently.

So I started thinking of what to write about.

Something that would interest her.

Something that I could write about on a regular basis.

Something not too dull, but not too controversial. I mean, I don't wanna start receiving hate notes. I'm a peaceful man. A lover not a fighter you might call me if you're into cliches. ;)

So yeah, for the past few months I've been helping my Aunt out in a bar, of which she is the Assistant Manager. This bar is dubbed Acid Bar and this year it received the award for Best Bar in Singapore. In my opinion, the main reason the bar was able to receive this award was due to a number of the amazing talents who play there week after week. But maybe I'll go into who they are in a future post. (",)

Now, one time at work I was thinking about this special blog related request that i had gotten. Customers were an endangered species on that particular day and so i had a few minutes of free time to ponder this subject every now and then . Then it hit me.

Music & Lyrics.

One of the things that My Love and I are passionate about.

This idea came a few days ago, but i couldn't decide on a song to start off with.

But I think i found the one i want to start off with.

While at work a couple of days ago, (Wednesday night), Pamela and Fatt (talents for the night, and no, Fatt isn't Fat) played a song which just got to me on the inside. I'm still unsure whether this is the best song to start with, but I had to get started somewhere, and this song, which I don't think I've heard before that night, caught my ears. It's a simple song, with simple lyrics. It tells the story of undying love and trust, and I could relate to some of the words.

I dunno whether you've heard this one before Beautiful, the title of the song is:

Love Me, by Colin Raye.

So here's how it goes.

I read a note my Grandma wrote back in 1923.
Grandpa kept it in his coat, and he showed it once to me.
He said,

“Boy you might not understand but a long, long time ago.
Grandma's daddy didn't like me none, but I loved your Grandma so.

We had this crazy plan to meet, and run away together.
Get married in the first town we came to and live forever.
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead, I found this letter,
and this is what it said:

If you get there before I do,
Don't give up on me.
I'll meet you when my chores are through.
I don't know how long I'll be.
But I'm not gonna let you down.

I read those words just hours before my Grandma passed away.
In the door way of a church, where me and Grandpa stopped to pray.
I know I'd never seen him cry in all my 15 years.
But as he said these words to her,
His eyes filled up with tears:

It's a pretty old song, which was released in October 1991, but I'm pretty sure it's a classic. By January 1992 it became Raye's first No. 1 single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks; and in the same year it received a Song Of The Year nomination from the Country music Association. It was one of the singles which made up Collin Raye's album, 'All I Can Be'.

In the past I don't think could have really enjoyed a song like this. Perhaps because I didn't really appreciate the meaning of loving someone with all your heart, and trusting them with everything you have to give. But all that changed the day I met the Love Of My Life.

What I could really relate to was the message given in the chorus. How thing's don't always go as planned, but when you really love someone, you trust them to stick by your side even if it's not in person. And you continue loving them as if they were right beside you.

It's something I had to experience first hand. Things not going the way I planned. Having to leave the one I Love behind, when we were supposed to leave to somewhere else together. Soon she'll be going to that somewhere else, without me. While I stay here and finish what I have to do.

But we'll make it through. I'll love her everyday we're apart. We'll be together once again. I trust in her enough to say that.
